Hunters Hill Art Exhibition – Internship
Hunter’s Hill Council is seeking Events Coordinator interns interested in the arts, community development, media and/ or events managements.
Planning is now underway for the 2016 Exhibition which will be held in May and Hunters Hill Council is looking to recruit two dedicated interns to assist the Events Team from February to May 2016.
In the past interns have been involved with:
-Developing and designing event promotional collateral
-Customer service during the exhibition
-Liaising with artists, event organisers, event volunteers and other stakeholders
-Hanging and curating artworks
-Sale of artworks
-Demonstrable interest in fine arts, arts administration, museum studies or events.
-Proficiency with Microsoft Office
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-Ability to follow direction
-Ability to work unsupervised
-Experience in administration
-Experience with customer service
-Working knowledge of Photoshop, InDesign and WordPress would be highly desirable
The Event Team is based at Hunter’s Hill Council Offices and Event Interns are required to work 2-3 days per week. During the exhibition period there will be a requirement for availability over the weekend. Interviews will be conducted in early February. The successful candidates will begin in February 2016.
As a locally run event, the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition provides opportunities for hands on experience beyond the customer service roles typically offered for interns at larger institutions. You will be able to gain experience at all stages of the event, from planning to pack-up, giving your CV a real edge.
As the Event Coordinator (intern) of the Hunters Hill Art Exhibition you will assist in all aspects of the development of the Exhibition with the guidance, supervision and support of Hunter’s Hill Council Event Coordinator.
This successful internship program gives a real and practical insight into how to stage a major exhibition/event and is a great opportunity for those interested in the events, marketing and design and / or the arts industry(s).
